In New Hampshire, drugs are classified based on how addictive they are. For example, marijuana is among the mildest class of controlled drugs and, as such, the penalty for possession is typically not as severe compared to the penalties associated with more dangerous and addictive substances.

Here are some of the drugs targeted as serious offenses in the state:
