Yvonne joined Bernazzani Law as a legal assistant in September 2019 supporting victims of domestic violence and stalking, as well as clients interested in estate planning. Since then, she has moved into the role of paralegal, where she has expanded her knowledge to include family law, business law and probate administration. Serving the public, whether through work or volunteering, has always been a large part of Yvonne’s life.
Prior to joining Bernazzani Law, Yvonne worked for the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Lawyer Referral Service, working with a diverse group of attorneys who handled all matters of New Hampshire Law. She was also the coordinator for the Bar’s Lawline program, which educated the public about the law and legal system in New Hampshire involving cases of bankruptcy, family law, estate and probate matters, consumer law issues, tort issues and criminal law.
Before entering the legal field, Yvonne spent 9 years working as an elementary library instructor in Salem and Pelham public schools. She was able to see first-hand the challenges students encounter when families are facing difficult issues such as domestic violence, divorce, homelessness, and addiction.
During the same time, she served as the president of her local chapter of the New Hampshire Education Association and she was responsible for contract negotiations and the everyday issues of running a 188-member organization, ensuring fairness and equitable results. In 2015 she was named the NEA NH Paraeducator of the Year for her contributions to education and labor.
Yvonne obtained her Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and Associate of Science in Paralegal Studies from North Shore Community College, graduating summa cum laude from both programs simultaneously. She has also completed all but two of her classes for a degree in Business Administration.
Yvonne has been married to her husband Tony for 26 years. They have a 20- year-old son, Alex, who is currently a college student planning a career in public service as a police officer. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling with her family, kayaking, gardening, and baking.
