Sylvie Y. Michaud-Nelson

  • Profile

Sylvie was born in Canada and brought here by her parents when she was 11 months old. She grew up in the streets of Lawrence, MA, and moved to Nashua, NH, in 1998. She is familiar with the immigration process of naturalization and became American by choice at the age of 29.

Sylvie has an associate degree in executive secretarial with a medical option from Northern Essex Community College, and she attended Southern New Hampshire University, taking courses in human resources management. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, having graduated with a 4.0 from Hesser College with her associate degree in paralegal studies.

Sylvie came to the Law Office of Amy G. Wolfson, now Bernazzani Law, in June of 2005 after having been laid off out of high tech after 20 years of dedicated service. She was so excited to be hired by Amy that she even showed up a day early for work!

Sylvie married her best friend, David Scot Nelson, in June of 2015, with her friend and fearless leader, Xiorli Bernazzani, officiating her wedding. Sylvie has a married, adult daughter, Kimberly, and a grandson, Reuben, who she adores to the moon and back. Those of you who know her, know that she is a cat lady. Roaming the rooms of their home is a very sophisticated and proper Siamese named Merlin and a Bengal who is an absolute ‘circus clown,’ named Chaussettes — her name is French for “socks”.

Some of her favorite quotes include: “Resent is like drinking poison and hoping someone else dies,” “some part of getting a second chance is taking responsibility for the mess you made in the first place,” and “we all forgive by releasing all resentment, anger, and bitterness and thus set ourselves free from the negative feelings that weaken us.” Words to live by, if you ask her.
